The DFA membership recently cast a vote of non-confidence in the Dalhousie leadership, specifically the President, Provost/VP Academic and the Chair of the Board between June 2024 and July 2025. A total of 592 members voted (representing 52.8% of our total membership). Of those who voted, 71.62% said they did not have confidence in Dalhousie's leadership. A letter was sent to the President Kim Brooks, Provost/VP Academic (Acting) Brenda Merritt and Board Chair Cheryl Fraser. It calls for greater transparency, accountabilty, decision-making that supports the academic mission of the university, and increased communications with the DFA. You can read that letter here.
