Workload Concerns

DFA continues to work through a number of challenges related to the roll-out of the new workload policy language negotiated in the 2025 round of collective bargaining. We are trying to reach agreement with the Board on what elements and features are appropriate for workload policies. The new collective agreement requires that workload policies are approved by Faculty Councils, but such policies must also be acceptable to Deans since they have the authority to assign workload. 

We continue to make progress at the Association-Board Committee and we hope to issue a joint document with the Board on workload policies later this term. Please remain engaged with this process by organizing within your Departments and Faculties to make sure that your interests are addressed.
